Mc Kinney, Texas:

McKinney is a situated in Collin County, Texas . The geographical location of city is 3311′50″N, 9638′23″W . It is situated at the intersection of U.S. highways 380 and 75. It is located 30 miles north of Dallas and 51 miles from Fort Worth The total area covered by City is 151.5 km • with just 1.2 km • with water.

The city is named in the memory of Collin Mc Kinney, a congressman of Republic of Texas. Mc Kinney has shown the maximum growth in US from 2000 to 2003. McKinney was incorporated in 1913. City have commission form of government. City have rich soil best suited for the cultivation of cotton. Earlier growth of the economy came from agricultural products like flour, corn, and cotton. 1870 showed tremendous growth cottonseed oil mill, banks, churches, schools and newspaper press were opened .In 1880 an opera house was also opened. Growth also came from businesses like textile mill, an ice company, a large dairy, and a garment-manufacturing company.

Railways reached McKinney in 1872. In 1943 the 1,500-bed Ashburn General Hospital was opened in McKinney. Tornado affected the growth and destroyed property worth $2 million in 1948.

McKinney is home to the Dallas Revolution and Central Park Campus of the Collin County Community College District

Population:

The population in 1848 was 35 which grew and reached 4,714 in 1912. By 1953 population crossed the mark of 10,000. In 1985 Mc Kinney had a population of just over 16,000. These 16,000 people supported 254 businesses. In 1990 the population was 21,283. The present population is 96,851 and it is expected that ultimately it will reach 300,000. The per capita income for the city is $28,185.Different races living in Mc Kinney are White, African American, Native American, Asian, Islander. Ratio of the female to male is 100 to 102.4 males

City is served by regional airport Mc Kinney Exec Air having runway length of 7000 feet and also having instrument landing system. It is situated 35 miles from Mc Kinney. City also have Grey Hound Bus lines and union Pacific Railroad.

City has 7 councils with 69 municipal police and 66 paid firemen. City also have Zoning body and Master plan.

• Mayfair: It offers great events, fun, shopping and riding.

Public Schools are managed by Independent school district. There are two districts McKinney Independent School District and Frisco Independent School District.

Mc Kinney high school has been ranked as 251 in US. Some of the main high schools are McKinney High School, McKinney North High School, McKinney Boyd High School, and Serenity High School
